- Free selection of expert appraiser
The person who incurred damages is completely free to choose an expert of his choice to secure evidence and determine the scope and extent of damages. This also holds when the insurance company nominates or sends an appraiser without the consent of the person who incurred damages. The cost for an appraisal are reimbursable, i.e., the opposing insurance must accept these costs except in the case of minor damages. - Securing Evidence
Only completely securing evidence on the scope and extent of damages guarantees that the person who incurred damages will receive the full amount of his claim. - Extent of Damages
Securing evidence on the extent of damages guarantees that the damages from the accident are fully recognized and repaired. - Value loss
The extent of an eventual claim of lost value can usually only be substantiated with an expertise. - Dispute over how accident happened
Securing evidence regarding the type and extent of damages is required in many cases when there is a dispute regarding how the accident happened. - Billing according to the Appraisal
The person with damages caused by the opposing party to the accident can choose on what basis he wishes to be reimbursed for the repair costs. This is the so-called fictitious cost calculation. Even if the person with damages repairs these in a specialist shop he is not obliged to present the bill for the damages. (see judgment of the National Court dated 06.04.1993, Case VI ZR 181/92).

Claims by the person causing the accident that the extent of the damages was small or really was caused earlier can be rebutted with an expertise. - Sale of the repaired “accident car”
When selling a car repaired after an accident (accident car), the fact it was in an accident must usually be disclosed. With an accident expertise and photos an eventual interested person can be shown the precise extent of damages incurred. - Engaging a lawyer
Use the legal rights you are entitled to and make sure you have a complete and quick resolution of your damage claims. Engage a lawyer you trust when you have an accident. Valid claims made by a lawyer to resolve damage payments must be paid by the opposing insurance. You should always engage a lawyer when the cause of the accident is unclear or personal injuries are involved. - Advance Payment
